BLIA World Headquarters New Media Development Committee was established in 2018, invited professionals from the global film and television industry to form a consultant team dedicated to discovering outstanding film workers and potential rookies from all over the world.To spread truth, kindness, and beauty of the world in response to the Three Acts of Goodness, “do good deeds, speak good words, and have good thoughts,” . The “Three Acts of Goodness Micro Film Contest” aims to inspire talents in different regions to present the most beautiful and kindest stories in life in microfilm format, joining together to promote love and peace in the world.

BLIA & THE UNITED NATIONS
In 2003, BLIA joined the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) with special consultative status in recognition of BLIA’s work in promoting health, education, and sustainability on five continents.
BLIA partners with the UN Department of Global Communications to share and promote our projects, particularly those that relate to the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

BLIA is headquartered in Hacienda Heights, California, and has 200 chapters in over 70 countries and regions.

CHANGING THE WORLD
Each year, BLIA actively participate in various activities within the UN, including annual meetings, major conferences, youth assemblies, and multilateral events such as the Commission on the Status of Women and the High-Level Political Forum. We discuss how BLIA engages with and advances the SDGs in our international work.

Founded by Venerable Master Hsing Yun in 1992 with the belief that Humanistic Buddhism is a driving force for social good, BLIA works globally for concerted, positive action in the twenty-first century. We support our communities to make a difference and encourage collective action to scale solutions to benefit our environment and future generations.

【Activity Dates】
1. Online submission: October 11, 2023 to April 30, 2024.
The artworks will be evaluated by the Institute-in-Charge and the accepted entries will be available for online voting.The top 10 entries will be given priority to enter the finals.
Voting period: May 15 - 31, 2024
2. Evaluation by judges: In August 2024
3. Announcement of results: In September 2024 (the exact time of which will be announced by the Institute-in-Charge).

【Qualifications】
1. Citizens of any country, 18 years old and above with imagination, creativity, and a passion for making videos and movies.
2. Contestants are not allowed to register multiple times or submit multiple entries.
3. Contestants can apply as an individual or as a group.

【To Register】
First Step: Judging standards
1) Theme expression: 50% (must be close to the theme)
2) Creativity: 30% (imaginative and creative presentation)
3) Overall presentation: 20% (film is complete in its production)

Second Step: Upon notification of approval, please re-upload the artwork to contestant’s own Google Drive as a sharing link.

【Film Requirements】
1. Legally all copyright videos. The movie can be filmed with any video and/or audio equipment.
2. The movie cannot contradict public order or the mores of kindness and benevolence.
3. The length of the artwork entry, including opening and ending, must be least 3 minutes long but no longer than 30 minutes.
4. The movie format should be in MP4 and HD (1920×1080).
5. The BLIA logo is to appear at the ending, the file of which can be downloaded at: https://shorturl.at/vyAMY
6. Production of the original artwork should be finished after June 30, 2021.
7. English or Chinese subtitles are to be included in the film.
8. The Institute-in-Charge will notify the contestants who failed to follow all the listed requirements and give them a deadline to make rectifications. Contestants who failed to rectify by the deadline given will be deemed as forfeiting their right to contest.
