ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS.
Short films and documentaries under 35 minutes, made no earlier than January 1st 2024, are eligible for the competition. Works from all parts of the world are admitted to the competition without exception, provided that films not made in the Italian language are subtitled in Italian or English. Each Author may enter more than one work.
By submitting a project, the author declares that s/he owns all rights of economic use and vision of the project in its entirety. S/he also declares that the project is original and does not infringe on the rights of any third party. In case of an untrue statement and in case of any claims by the actual copyright holders, the authors absolve the Festival and the organizers from any legal and economic liability and agree to be fully responsible for the consequences attached to and connected with the copyright claims.
By entering the competition, you allow the Festival to use your project and the material that will be requested for publicity, media and promotional purposes, as well as permission to screen your work during the days of the event. The author agrees to provide an e-mail address, to which all relevant communications will be sent. In the case of films entered by festival distribution companies, the author's e-mail contact must be provided at the time of entry. Please feel free to contact the organizers at info@35mmfilmfestival.com if you have any questions before submitting your work to the 35mm Film Festival. If your work is not selected for the competition, the entry fee will not be refunded. In case the Festival decides, at its sole discretion, to screen works out of competition, the authors of those works will be contacted by the organization. Works must be submitted to the Festival no later than August 9th, 2026, so that the organization can view them all.
SELECTION and ADMISSION TO THE COMPETITION.
Candidate films will be initially evaluated by a technical committee to certify that they possess the requirements of the regulations. Entry does not actually imply selection of the work at the Festival. The selection of films is made by and at the discretion of the Festival. Official selections will be announced on September 1st, 2026. 16 projects will be admitted to the Official Competition Selection. Then the works will be judged by an external jury that will decide the winners in the various categories.
The owners of the works selected for the competition and the festival days must send the material useful for screening and publicity communication by September 12th, 2026. This means the short film and trailer files, through online file transfer services (e.g., WeTransfer), and a poster of the film. Videos must have the following quality requirements in order to ensure optimal streaming: maximum size of 40 GB; a minimum resolution of 1920x1080; a video codec: Apple ProRes 422HQ or Apple ProRes 444 / H264. The poster of the film must be in A4 vertical format, with a minimum resolution of 300dpi (29.7 x 21 cm / 3508 x 2480 px) and in JPG format.
The screening schedule and times are decided by the Festival Management, which will publish a guide to the works presented. The screening will take place in a cinema venue.
All 16 selected projects will be screened during the first day of the Festival, October 3rd, 2026, and compete in all categories.

Al concorso sono ammesse opere di finzione e documentari realizzate non prima del 1 gennaio 2024. Al concorso sono ammesse opere provenienti da ogni parte del mondo senza nessuna eccezione. Le opere non realizzate in lingua italiana dovranno essere sottotitolate in lingua italiana o inglese. Al concorso sono ammesse opere di finzione, documentari e animazione di durata inferiore a 35 minuti. Con l’iscrizione, l’autore dichiara di possedere tutti i diritti di utilizzazione economica e visione della propria opera e di tutte le sue parti. Inoltre dichiara che la propria opera è originale e non lede i diritti di terze parti. In caso di dichiarazione non veritiera ed in caso di rivalse da parte dei reali detentori dei diritti di copyright, gli autori sollevano il Festival e gli organizzatori da qualsivoglia responsabilità legale ed economica e si impegnano a rispondere interamente delle conseguenze annesse e connesse alla frode. Ciascun Autore può iscrivere più di un’opera. Con l’iscrizione al concorso, si concede al Festival di usare le proprie opere e il materiale che verrà richiesto a fini pubblicitari, mediatici e di promozione, oltre all’autorizzazione a proiettare l’opera durante le giornate dell’evento. L’autore si impegna a fornire un indirizzo e-mail, al quale saranno inviate tutte le comunicazioni in merito. In caso di opere iscritte da società di distribuzione festivaliera, è necessario fornire al momento dell’iscrizione il contatto e-mail dell’autore. Non esitate a contattare gli organizzatori all’indirizzo info@35mmfilmfestival.com per qualsiasi dubbio prima di candidare la vostra opera al 35mm Film Festival. Qualora la vostra opera non venga selezionata per il concorso, la tassa d’iscrizione non sarà rimborsata. Nel caso il Festival decidesse, a proprio insindacabile giudizio, di proiettare opere fuori concorso, gli autori delle medesime verranno contattati dall’organizzazione. Le opere dovranno essere iscritte al Festival entro e non oltre il giorno 9 Agosto 2026, così da permettere all’organizzazione di visionarle tutte.
SELEZIONE e AMMISSIONE AL CONCORSO
Le opere candidate verranno valutate inizialmente da una commissione tecnica per certificare il possesso dei requisiti richiesti dal regolamento. L’iscrizione non implica di fatto la selezione dell’opera al Festival. La selezione dei film avviene a cura e a giudizio del Festival. Le selezioni ufficiali verranno annunciate il 1 settembre 2026. Alla Selezione ufficiale del concorso saranno ammesse 16 opere. In seguito le opere saranno valutate da una giuria esterna che decreterà i vincitori delle varie categorie. I titolari delle opere selezionate per il concorso e per i giorni della rassegna dovranno inviare il materiale utile alla proiezione e alla comunicazione pubblicitaria entro il 12 Settembre 2026: Il file del cortometraggio e del trailer, attraverso servizi di trasferimento di file online (per es. WeTransfer). I video dovranno possedere i seguenti requisiti di qualità al fine di garantire uno streaming ottimale: dimensione massima di 40 GB; una risoluzione minima di 1920x1080; un video codec: Apple ProRes 422HQ o Apple ProRes 444 / H264. -Locandina dell’opera A4 verticale, risoluzione minima 300dpi (29.7 x 21 cm / 3508 x 2480 px) in formato JPG; Il calendario e gli orari delle proiezioni sono a cura della Direzione del Festival, la quale pubblicherà un catalogo generale delle opere presentate. La proiezione avverrà in una sala cinematografica. Tutte le 16 opere selezionate saranno proiettate durante la prima giornata del Festival il 3 ottobre 2026. Il 4 ottobre 2026 si terranno i Talk con i registi in concorso e la giuria, il 35’’ Film Contest* e le premiazioni. Tutte le 16 opere concorreranno per le 8 categorie.

Al concorso sono ammesse opere di ogni categoria e genere.
Il tema è LIBERO.
Le opere devono avere la durata massima di 35 secondi, titoli di testa e coda compresi.
Al concorso sono ammesse opere provenienti da ogni parte del mondo senza nessuna eccezione. Le opere non realizzate in lingua italiana dovranno essere sottotitolate in lingua italiana o inglese.
Con l’iscrizione, l’autore dichiara di possedere tutti i diritti di utilizzazione economica e visione della propria opera e di tutte le sue parti. RULES 35” FILM CONTEST
The competition is open to works of any category and genre.
There is no specific theme to adhere to, the subject is open.
Works must have a maximum duration of 35 seconds, including opening and end credits.
The competition is open to works from anywhere in the world, without exception. Works not made in Italian must be subtitled in Italian or English.
By submitting, the author declares that they own all economic exploitation and screening rights to their work and to all of its parts. They also declare that their work is original and does not infringe the rights of third parties. In the event of a false declaration and in the event of claims by the actual holders of the copyright rights, the authors hold the Festival and the organizers harmless from any legal and economic liability and undertake to bear full responsibility for all consequences related and connected to the fraud.
Each author may submit more than one work.
By submitting to the competition, the author grants the Festival the right to use their works and the material that will be requested for advertising, media and promotional purposes, as well as authorization to screen the work during the event days.
The author undertakes to provide an email address to which all communications will be sent. In the case of works submitted by festival distribution companies, it is necessary to provide the author’s email contact at the time of submission.
