EL MOUAHHID YAHYA is a Moroccan filmmaker and 3D animation director whose work explores misunderstanding, social hierarchy, and emotional isolation through symbolic storytelling and strong visual metaphors.
Starting his journey as a self-taught 3D artist, he independently writes, directs, animates, lights, and edits his films, often working solo across the entire production pipeline. His early projects focus on minimal dialogue, expressive imagery, and emotionally driven narratives, blending realism with stylized animation to reflect inner psychological states.
His animated short Roommate, his first completed film, marked the beginning of his filmmaking path and was selected for Animatex, introducing his work to an international audience. Since then, his films have continued to examine human behavior, power structures, and neglected perspectives, with recurring themes of empathy, innocence, and societal indifference.
Yahya’s broader ambition is to build a distinctive cinematic universe across animation and live-action, while expanding into music, fashion, and design as parallel artistic expressions. He is currently developing multiple short films and long-term projects while pursuing formal film education and international festival exposure.
