The writersXwriters Screenplay Competition is designed to offer new and emerging writers the opportunity to simultaneously develop their craft and their network.

This is why we additionally offer THREE COMPLIMENTARY SENTENCES OF CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK for all entries. This feedback is based on our current work-in-progress The Art of Story.

Written by The Mul Brothers, The Art of Story is a thought-provoking guide that delves beyond traditional screenwriting techniques, exploring the philosophical and thematic core of storytelling to help writers craft narratives that deeply resonate and endure.

Our goal at writersXwriters is to assist writers in the early stages of their careers by opening the doors to industry connections, whilst continuing to set the foundations required for a career as a writer.

As a collaborative of writers, writersXwriters by its very essence, is the culmination of experience and lateral networking. Our competition has been developed with the early-stage writers in mind - the brain child of a group of writers who started like everyone else and have been through the wringer. This is a competition For Writers, By Writers.

Geared towards borderless-networking, we want to create a network of talented individuals, as they make their way, transitioning into the industry. Our success is your success. We are only as good as the talented individuals we find and continue to nurture.

With that in mind, we aim to limit the selections of our competition to a mere 30 quarterfinalists - unlike the bulk of most competitions. We want your placement to stand for something, and assist writers in moving on to the next stage.

Unlike others in its place, our programme is designed to help craft new and existing ideas - as well as developing a peer network for the future. Our curated, tiered prize package is designed to add to the developmental tools all of us writers require in the earlier stages of our career.

Understandably, there are certain negative connotations attached to running a screenplay competition. We want to change that. Why can't all those who place in the contest benefit in some way - apart from that placement alone?

Is it nice to win a $500 prize for winning a competition? Sure. Will it benefit your career?
Probably not. Could we use that finance to further benefit your peers and simultaneously offer you significant value? Well... that's what we're trying to do.

Finally, to further validate your entry, we've ensured we have relevant list of judges, including: Paramount Pictures and both Bellevue and Zero Gravity management agencies, to name a few.
