The VISIONS International Student Film Festival, has been proudly hosted by students of Earl Haig Secondary School and the Claude Watson Arts Program in Toronto for over 30 years.
Since its launch in 1996, the festival has provided students with opportunities to have their work shown on an international scale. VISIONS showcases a diverse selection of films created by high school students from around the world.

BEST ANIMATION: Seven Minutes - Croatia
BEST SOUND EDITING: Signal - Canada
BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY: Orpheus and Eurydice - United States
BEST SCREENPLAY: TYLER MESSES WITH TIME TRAVEL - Singapore
MOST PROMISING JUNIOR FILMMAKER: Guillaume Pellé and Jérémy Howe - Last Breath - France
MOST PROMISING SENIOR FILMMAKER: Megan Antosh - Forever Waiting - Canada
BEST EDITING: Peelings - Canada
BEST PERFORMANCE: Xinti Lim - Primitive - Malaysia
BEST DIRECTOR: Jake Tran - Awkward - Canada
BEST PICTURE: HAPPILESS - Canada
AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD: Awkward - Canada
Next year's festival (our 31st anniversary!) will be taking place in late April, 2027, at Earl Haig Secondary School. Tickets will become available closer to the festival date. Film submissions will open in October or November 2026! You can read over all submission guidelines below.

The 30th VISIONS International Student Film Festival Committee
The VISIONS International Student Film Festival recognizes excellence in filmmaking at the high school level. Submissions to the following genres will be accepted:
Drama
Comedy
SciFi
Suspense
Animation
Experimental
Music Video
Documentary
Awards and accolades will be given to the standout filmmakers at the discretion of the judging panel, made up of five industry professionals. The following categories will be awarded:
