Underwater Love Film Festival is staying afloat like a gondola in the Venetian lagoon with a buoyant spirit. No other cultural and historical city is subject to adverse effects of climate change as Venice, Italy. UWLFF is not only a film-oriented showcase but an avant-garde artistic movement to sensitise the world about the perils of global warming through organically innovative artwork and environmental films.

Rules & Terms

We select short films from artists from all over the world! The duration of each film must be no longer than 10 minutes. A maximum of 3 films can be submitted. In order to screen the film at the film festival an authorization by the rights owner and the right of the music are required. Subscribing to the festival you authorize to screen your film at the film festival main event and at collateral events. Every film will be conserved in our archive. By submitting to our film festival you authorize the use of some footage (or image) of the film to promote the festival (poster, web, etc.). If you are in Venice... Come meet us!

    A very special event! Organized with a poignant and poetic theme in the perfect city for considering how water shapes society. For the 2024 edition, I was honored to be included in the program and was ASTOUNDED by the cinema experience: on a decommissioned vaporetto (water bus) off the coast of the city, and accessible only by small boats. The event was fully sold out and cloaked in early November fog. With a fantastic crowd and great conversation, this may be the most unique and enchanting film festival I have ever attended.
