Targeting the depiction of unique stories through inspired manipulation of the cinematographic language. Currently based in Salvador - Bahia, Brazil.
Tiago Abubakir is an award-winning Brazilian filmmaker, with a restless drive to explore the edges of storytelling. Since 2017, he’s been crafting stylish, stirring work that spans narrative fiction, branded content, VFX, and immersive video mapping.
Currently studying Communication, Tiago brings a rare blend of technical precision and creative instinct to every project he takes on. His debut documentary Belov: A Life at Sea — a lyrical portrait of the most emblematic Brazilian sailing legend — marks his first foray into shortform nonfiction and has already earned notable recognition on the international stage.
With a portfolio that crosses genres, formats, and continents, his clients include Globoplay, Canal OFF and Amazon Prime Video. Passionate about writing and editing, Tiago is driven by a single goal: to tell stories that resonate far beyond the screen.
