The underdog film festival is back! A new platform, a new format, and most importantly of all, new films from independent film makers around the world. We know it's been a hot minute, but we are back and ready to bring the Thunder in 2024. While we've been away, we've been teaching an old dog some new tricks and now have a brand new website, a comprehensive archive of all films ever featured at Thunderdance and a news desk where you can keep up to date with our latest editorial content.
We will soon be opening submissions for the sixth edition of the festival. Check out all updates pertaining to the latest edition of Thunderdance at:
www.thunderdance.org/festival
The categories are up already, while the event venue, judge allocations and sponsors will be revealed in due course. So be sure to check back for updates including ticket sales for the festival itself which will be made available on our website once the venue is announced.
A physical award will be given to all "Winner" and "Honourable Mention" titles. Some shortlisted work will also be featured on the website alongside the selection from staff picks that felt the need to showcase the work. One film per year will receive the prestigious "Grand" title which bestows the recognition of being the best film at Thunderdance for that particular edition. The complete Thunderdance archive can be found at:
www.thunderdance.org/archive
Every piece of work featured at Thunderdance has it's own page link which includes any judge's feedback and category sponsorship information where applicable. All links to work are permanent and we encourage those featured to use the link as a record for their award win (in addition to any physical awards). Those who achieve "Winner" or "Honourable Mention" will receive laurels to use as they see fit.
Regardless of the time elapsed since being featured at Thunderdance, we feel a commitment to preserve whatever recognition was granted, so please let us know if you have work that was featured at a Thunderdance festival from the past and has not been catalogued in our archive.
