While the THIRD ACTion Film Festival will not host its traditional three-day event in 2026, we’re excited to stay connected with our filmmaking community in new ways. Our mission to change the narrative on aging through film—and meaningful conversations—continues.

Over the coming year, we’ll present a series of community events and launch new initiatives. We invite you to submit films that feature at least one main character aged 60+. All genres are welcome, including short and feature-length films, documentary or fiction.

Submissions and notifications will be ongoing.

SHARE YOUR FILM AGAIN
If you previously screened a short film at THIRD ACTion Film Festival and it is now publicly available online (for example on YouTube or another streaming service, free or paid), we would be delighted to feature it again as part of our year-round programming—either in small, private, group screenings or online.

At times, we highlight films connected to seasonal or cultural moments, such as:
* Valentine’s Day – love stories
* Remembrance Day – wartime stories
* Seniors Week
* International Women’s Day
* National Indigenous Peoples Day
Alongside your film, we will also share updates about your current work so audiences can stay connected with filmmakers they discovered through the festival.
Please note that we do not offer licensing fees for these screenings, and we do not charge audiences to access them. Our goal is simply to promote your film’s availability in Canada.
There is no need to resubmit your film. Just email us at admin@thirdactionfilmfest.ca with the film title and a viewing link.

We look forward to continuing to celebrate films that reflect the richness, complexity, and creativity of life's third act.

We will not be offering awards and prizes until our next Festival.

We want to screen feature films and short films in-person in Calgary AB Canada.
Our limited online programming of shorts is geofenced to Canada.

Please tell us your expectations and perameters for screenings with your submission, ie. licensing fee, formats available, etc.
