Chantelle's journey into professional writing started on the other side of the camera as an actor. Living as a queer POC, she felt it daunting to audition for roles which were limited in their portrayal of LGBTQ folks and POC, so she reached out to Directors she had worked with, Mark and Greg Runnels and Roxana Altamirano for guidance on how to get started writing. The thriller she co-wrote with Mark and Greg Runnels, SHRINE OF SCARS was published about in the Modesto Bee twice and she just finished Shonda Rhymes' Master Class on Writing for Television during the beginning of the pandemic.
