Short films of the North East is a film festival that approaching it's 3rd year. It started off as a one off screening of a film but the success and demand for a live screening of films in Tyne and Wear was so great that more events came as a result.

Previous years have been immensely successful with an average of 60 attendees per screening event.

Submissions will be judged prior to the screening event with the best films being screened and celebrated at the Live Screening Event in October

Awards & Prizes

We previously have not included awards and prizes however 2017 will introduce this.

We will have awards for

-Best Film
-Best Director
-Best Actor
-Best Cinematography

Rules & Terms

- All films must be under 30 minutes long. However the shorter the film the easier it will be to include in our program.

- All kinds of film accepted (within reason) including Short Film, Music Video, Artistic, Animation, Documentary....

-Decisions will be made based on the links to a Vimeo or youtube screener. Please make it as easy as possible for the intial judging stage to access your film. If you are selected for the live screening or entered for an award you will be contacted to arrange a www.wetransfer.com to an email address provided.
