Shortee Micro Drama Competition

📜OFFICIAL REQUIREMENTS, TERMS & CONDITIONS:
Filmmakers are allowed to submit as many submissions as they wish. There are no completion date requirements.

Intellectual Rights
You must own all rights to your film, including story, performances, music, and underlying materials.

Music Licensing
All music must be cleared for global digital distribution and monetization.
Proof of licensing may be requested.

VERTICAL FORMAT REQUIREMENTS:
9:16 vertical format only
Submitted as one continuous film with 2 seconds of black between episodes
(these 2 seconds do not count toward runtime)
Each episode must be 60–180 seconds (1–3 minutes)
Must be 4K or 1080p
No letterboxing (full-screen vertical only)
Reformatted 16:9 projects are eligible if they meet all festival rules and Micro Drama structure.

CREDITS & TITLES:
Opening and closing credits must be provided separately via Excel or CSV.
Credits must be removed from your final submission film.
Credits do not count toward runtime.

POSTER REQUIREMENTS
You must provide a clean, clear, safe-for-work 9:16 poster.
Filmmakers grant Shortee the right to make sizing/modification adjustments as needed for display within the platform.

🌍LANGUAGE & ACCESSIBILITY

Non-English or heavily accented dialogue must include an English VTT file.
Shortee can create one for an additional fee.

🔞 CONTENT ELIGIBILITY
All films must comply with standard platform guidelines.
Content containing nudity must be re-cut to remain eligible.

🔐 EXCLUSIVITY
To compete, submissions cannot hold exclusive licensing agreements on any other platform.

🎥 SELECTION & PRESENTATION
Festival Duration (2 Months)
Selected films are featured for the run of the festival and rights are granted for extensions at Shortee’s discretion. Filmmakers could receive additional compensation for their submission if in-app ad-revenue shown before or sometimes in between viewings correlate directly to the audience viewing their submission.
By entering your content to the competition you herby authorize Shortee full rights to distribute your content on the Shortee platform for the duration of the competition and non-exclusively in perpetuity thereafter. Upon conclusion of the festival, content can be taken down at the filmmaker’s request.

Distribution Rights
By entering, filmmakers grant Shortee:
Distribution rights during the competition
Non-exclusive rights in perpetuity thereafter. By hosting your film on the Shortee platform, you acknowledge that advertisements may appear before or after your content. In those cases, you may be eligible to receive revenue generated from those ads in accordance with Shortee’s Revenue Share Terms and are bound by the Shortee Revenue Share Agreement.

Availability & Archiving
Filmmakers may request removal at any time.
Shortee may remove or relocate films if necessary.

Distinction
Each selected film receives:
Full credit
One outbound link (to your website, socials, or portfolio)
