Sharon Woodward is an award-winning filmmaker with over three decades of experience in the industry. Her journey began in television in 1984 with Channel 4’s youth series Turn It Up, and she later honed her craft at Newport Film School and the National Film and Television School. Throughout her career, she has worked across various sectors, including charities, corporate organizations, and educational institutions, with a particular passion for social history and archaeology.
From 2003 to 2010, Sharon specialized in media projects that empowered young people with physical and learning disabilities, using film as a tool for storytelling and advocacy. She continued her work as a freelance filmmaker, project manager, and media tutor until 2018, when she joined Oxford City Council as a filmmaker within the Communications Team. In this role, she has produced numerous films highlighting local initiatives, community projects, and civic events, bringing important stories to life through her lens.
