The SDGs Short Film Challenge is coordinated by the UN Information Centre (Nigeria) in partnership with the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Nigerian President on SDGs and FreshNEWS Multimedia. The Challenge sets out to enlighten people about the Sustainable Development Goals through film. Filmmakers across Nigeria and beyond will be tasked to make short films targeting, at least, one goal out of the seventeen SDGs to be submitted for prize and airing considerations. Each film will be required to show a vivid representation of the dangers confronting our world and why there must be concerted efforts towards the actualization of these goals. ● All films should be well within 15 minutes length, end credits inclusive.
● All submissions should include applicants’ profile details as required on the www.FilmFreeway platform.
● The theme and message of the film should be on any of the 17 SDGs.
● All filmmakers must produce documentation to show clearance of music rights where necessary.
● The film must be independently produced and owned by the submitter.
● The film must have been produced based on the current realities of the location of the filmmaker.
● Each filmmaker will be responsible for promoting his/her short film on all social media platforms to gain traction and engagements.
● The Viewers Choice Award will be decided based on the views, Likes and Comments on the streaming platform (Youtube)
● The best films will be decided by the jury.

Submission Guidelines for NYSC Special Category on SDGs Film Challenge and Awards 2022/23

The genre of the film must be drama.
•All filmmakers must produce documentation to show clearance of music rights where necessary.
•The film must be independently produced and owned by the submitter.
•The film must have been produced based on the current realities of the location of the filmmaker.
•Each filmmaker will be responsible for promoting his/her short film on all social media platforms to gain traction and engagements.
•The Viewers Choice Award will be decided based on the views, Likes and Comments on the streaming platform (Youtube)
•The best films will be decided by the jury.
• Only serving Corp Members are qualified to participate in the challenge.
