Scott was raised in the Northwoods of Wisconsin in the heart of the Great Lakes region. He was taught by eccentric parents to defy cultural norms. He created a Europe travelogue and a Y2K documentary at 17 in a high school documentary program. He worked at Channel 7 ABC News running camera and audio. He went to photography school in Minneapolis during the transition from film to digital. He later lived abroad for eight years in Ecuador, and Vietnam where he primarily focused on developing the skills to run a boutique documentary production studio. He and two musicians in Hanoi created an independent production company, “Banana Island Films,” that he runs to this day. Hanoi Mixtape and Witness Underground are now streaming.
