SciFian Festa (ScaFe) is a film festival that started with the Chuncheon SF Film Festival, which has introduced independent films for the past 10 years. Now it plans to leave Chuncheon to introduce some of the world's leading independent Sci-Fi films to Korean audiences and directors at a new location.
ScaFe is a film festival for Sci-Fi genre film lovers and at the same time a festival of directors who make independent SF films. ScaFe will once again unfold its genre dream of 'true science fiction begins with imagination and possibility'.
Since Georges Méliès first started Science Fiction with “A Trip to The Moon”, independent Sci-Fi films have been making excellent aesthetic accomplishments with limited budgets and unlimited imagination. These accomplishments cannot be achieved either with advanced technology or with finance alone. With the rapid development of science and technology along with visions, the imagination and predictions that sci-fi films have shown are becoming reality rather than fantasy.
