The Saturn’s Wish Film Festival is an all Trans, AND all BIPOC initiative centering the expansive experiences and skill sets of TGI film makers. The film industry utilizes trans bodies in their media approaches without reflecting TGI people on their film sets, writing rooms, and editing processes. Film and video are also important tactics of preserving and documenting TGI histories. In the second annual Saturn's Wish Film Festival, we will be screening various short films, all created by our own community. Our future is written in the stars, will you come witness with our star power together?

Saturn’s Wish 2025 was a well-organized and impactful festival. In such a challenging time, with ICE raids occurring close by in Los Angeles, it was powerful to see trans Latin films highlighted and celebrated. The venue at the Japanese American National Museum was beautiful, with a reception following the screening featuring vegan pupusas and refreshments, which created a welcoming atmosphere. The crystal glass awards were stunning, and while I was a bit disappointed not to win, I was grateful to receive a generous monetary compensation Award for sharing my film. This gesture showed the festival’s commitment to valuing artists and their work. Overall, so proud of the team that they offered community, visibility, and meaningful recognition for underrepresented voices.
