Sadam Wahidi, born in 1991 in Kabul, is a filmmaker and graduate of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Kabul University. He began his career at BBC Radio at age 9, working on educational programs for children. At 14, he directed his first 34-minute experimental film.
In 2014, Wahidi founded Rumi Films Production, an independent film production company. He wrote and directed several short films: "You are not American" (2015), "Mary Mother" (2016), and "The Luck Bird" (2017). His films have been selected for over 100 international film festivals, including Oscar qualifying events, and have won 24 international awards.
In 2017, Wahidi participated in the Asian Film Academy in South Korea as a director, further enriching his filmmaking skills and international perspective.
