Robin Sharaya is an Indian film writer and director who has made a mark in both the film and web series industries. He was born and raised in Chhatehra, Gohana, Haryana, to a Jat family. After completing his schooling in 2009, he joined Kurukshetra University to study Biochemistry. However, his love for filmmaking led him to drop out of his M.Sc. program in 2015 and join the State Institute of Film and Television in Rohtak, Haryana.
During his time at film school, Robin specialized in Film Direction and completed his Bachelor's degree in cinema. In his second year, he created a short film called Unkahi (2017) as his end-of-year project, which received critical acclaim and was selected for various renowned film festivals like Jagran Film Festival, DIFF, Cut.In, among others. The film also won several awards, including Best Student Film at two different festivals.
Since graduating from film school, Robin has worked as an independent filmmaker and has continued to create engaging and thought-provoking films and web series. He has won several awards and recognitions for his work, and his films have been screened at various international film festivals.
Robin Sharaya is also known for Whirl (2016), Dry Days (2016), Anonymous (2017) and Weg (2019).
