The 7th edition of the Ransäter Filmfestival is now open for submission. The festival will be held from 24th-28th May, 2026. The Ransäter Filmfestival vision has not changed and that is to bring quality shorts from all over the world to the city of Ransäter. In addition, we believe that it is important that everyone has the possibility to not just make films but also to enjoy and experience films which otherwise would not have been seen. Films close to the heart and resonates well with you.
The first day will be a workshop held by Thomas Rhodes (won best short 2024) the workshop will be dedicated to aspiring young directors/actors. The second day and third day, we will screen the selected shorts that are in competition with a director's QnA after each screening. The forth day we will have a retrospective with a director who made the difficult transition between short and feature. The festival will be crowned with a price and award ceremony on the 5th day ending with an evening of live music act.
A jury of three will decide the winners in each category and the audience will decide one winner for the Audience Award. If you win you need to be present to receive the price money. At least one of the film crew for each selected film will be invited to this year's festival.
Best Short Film Fiction: 1000€ and a trophy

Best Short Film Animation: 1000€ and a trophy
Jury price: 700€ and a diploma certificate
Audience award: 500€ and a diploma certificate (voted by audience)
