Films will only be accepted under the following categories, providing a diverse range of cinematic experiences for festival attendees:
- Narrative
- Documentary
- Animation
Submitted films must have been completed after February 2022, ensuring a fresh and contemporary selection for the festival audience.
Film submissions are accepted exclusively online through FilmFreeway.
To be considered, entries must be complete, including a film poster, synopsis, director’s bio, and director’s statement, offering comprehensive insight into the creative process behind the film.
It is a must to ensure that the screener on FilmFreeway is functional and correctly password-protected, if applicable, to facilitate seamless viewing by the selection committee.
Selected films will be required to submit a high-resolution .mov file for screening, guaranteeing optimal visual and auditory quality during the festival screenings.
Submitted films should align with the festival’s theme, “Memory” encouraging filmmakers to explore the depths of their innermost thoughts and emotions.
Submissions must not exceed 30 minutes in length, including credits, ensuring concise and impactful storytelling within the festival's screening schedule.
For accessibility and inclusivity, films featuring English audio must include Arabic subtitles, and films featuring Arabic audio must include English subtitles. Films in other languages are required to have both Arabic and English subtitles.
The submission deadline is May 31, 2024. No extensions will be given.
