Cheng Qian graduated from the School of Media, Shandong University of Arts. His graduation work was shortlisted for the China Red Microfilm Festival, and won honors including the Best Theme Award at the China University Student DV Art Festival and the Second Prize of Shandong Provincial Socialist Core Values Awards. His other works have also received recognition at events such as the Asian Microfilm Art Festival and the China Higher Education Association for Film and Television.
Since graduation, he has been engaged in film and television creation. In 2023, he shot his documentary feature *I Went to an Alien Planet*, which was shortlisted for the 13th China Documentary Academy Awards, the Ideal Country Art Film Festival and the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival, and won the Best Documentary Feature Award at the Global Film Festival (USA).
*I Went to an Alien Planet* was launched on CATHPLAY and GILOO streaming platforms, and screened in seven cities across the country. *Too High* is his first narrative feature film.
