M. Qasim Ishfaq – A Filmmaker / Cinematographer / Visual Artist / DOP / Editor

A 27 years old enthusiast born in Lahore - Pakistan, studied Film & TV in which he holds a Master’s degree with distinction from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, Pakistan and a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design with Distinction and Roll of Honor from Govt. College University, Lahore, Pakistan. He also works as a Visual Artist for a fashion apparel brand. He has directed many short films, worked on freelance projects.

With a camera in hand and an unwavering passion for storytelling, he has travelled extensively to northern areas capturing intricate details to satisfy his skills in the ever-evolving art form of Photography.

The passion for films started for him from the first flicker of the childhood dreams and life experiences. He made his first experimental short film at the age of 13 and has been hooked to movies ever since. Using his imagination, visualization and conceptual art to take the audience on an inner journey, his work and cinematic compositions are always around captivating stories that linger in the hearts and minds; hence, finding light, transformation and bringing his imaginations to life through the lens.

Hafiz - a 32 mins student short film by him contemplates the importance of addressing abuse, eliminating abusive cultures, and being aware of the repercussions of emotional negligence towards children.

His earlier video pieces are Basit, Psychopathic Goons, Hafiz (documentary), Soloist, Time, Shower of the Dawn, Solace.

From the harsh beginnings of life experiences at an early age, Qasim wants to embark on a journey where he would see himself evolve into a trailblazing director, producer, and a storyteller extraordinaire to propel his professional career in filmmaking to new levels.
