This 2 day film festival will provide a platform to celebrate film made local to Pearland and bring to light to local filmmakers looking to shoot their next project in the city.

We want to provide opportunities for up-and-coming artists to network and attend workshops that equip them with resources for any upcoming film project in Pearland. We’ll be having local industry experts host workshops that break down the filmmaking process, so PLTX can get to know how to get started in the film industry.

Day 1: Celebrate our opening night with a special anniversary screening of Arlington Road (1999) locally shot in PLTX. A mystery thriller directed by Mark Pellington, starring Jeff Bridges, Tim Robins, and Joan Cusack followed by a panel with the cast and crew of the film. Film Festival attendees and local filmmakers are welcome to celebrate the opening night of PLTX Film Festival.

Day 2:
Festival attendees will get a chance to spend the morning on a private location scout tour to discover the various film-frienldy locations and businesses across the City of Pearland. Unwind in the evening by enjoying a selection of short films from the following categories: Student Short Film, Pearland’s Best Short, Texas Short Film, Foreign Short Film

At the end of the festival, the Lone Star Capital Diamond Foundation will be awarding a $500 Film Grant to a 15-24 year old high school/college student who submitted to produce their next short film.
