The Public Health Film Festival brings together people interested in public health. Participation is free of charge and open to everyone.

It encourages participants to adopt different perspectives through the medium of film, to reflect critically and to discuss current public health issues together with other interested participants. It takes place in Munich, Germany, and online.

Initially, the PHFF was funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the competition "Small Subjects: Visibly Innovative!" of the German Rectors' Conference and is now supported by the Pettenkofer School of Public Health at LMU Munich.

Your film should have a strong connection to public health or global health. Thematically, we are looking for public health films with a focus on Planetary Health, Public Mental Health, Public Health Nutrition, Human Rights and Health.

Please make clear which public health topic is dealt with in your film and which public health topics could be discussed after your film.

Films in their original version are welcome if there is an English and at best German subtitle. If the film is selected for the programme, a German subtitle, for which the director is responsible, is necessary at best.

Long films over 45 minutes have a better chance of being included in the programme.

If you are unsure whether your film is suitable, please contact us via email.
