EMMEDIA welcomes submissions of new or recent media art work for our 9th PARTICLE + WAVE Media Arts Festival from March 22-24, 2024.
This 3-day event will celebrate the critical innovation and creativity present in the media arts community. This festival will showcase an art form that by it’s very nature, is constantly evolving and growing with the integration of ever-changing technological processes.

The formal screening portion of the festival will take place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada as well as an online stream screening. We also screen at other venues, and wherever appropriate during the festival, and dependent on the work selected. We accept very particular short films, videos, and animations that are independent, experimental and/or avant-garde in nature. We are looking for films that are innovative and unique in the way they tell a narrative and/or how the work was created.
