PARKFLIMMERN is an intimate, audience-focused film festival in Fürstenwalde/Spree, a small town near Berlin. Born in 2015 from late-night conversations at the bar where our festival is partly hosted, we've created a laid-back atmosphere where filmmakers and audiences naturally connect.

Our 2026 edition runs for three days, opening with a feature film. The programme features thematically curated short film blocks, embracing all forms and formats, plus more to be announced.

What makes us special is the relaxed environment, where filmmakers feel truly welcome and appreciated. We're dedicated to celebrating emerging film art and fostering meaningful connections between creators and viewers.

General Information

PARKFLIMMERN is a three-day film festival taking place in Fürstenwalde/Spree, Germany, a small town east of Berlin, now in its 11th edition. We'll open with a feature film and programme short films in thematically curated blocks, screened at our local partner cinema Filmtheater Union.

What we're looking for:
Stories that engage with the world: its fractures, contradictions, and struggles. Films that treat cinema as a space of inquiry rather than escape. Form and subject matter are open. What matters is the sharp gaze. We don't expect manifestos, but we do hope for films that have something at stake.

Eligibility & Submission Guidelines — Short Film

- Open to filmmakers aged 18 and older, regardless of nationality or professional background.

- We welcome all genres, formats, and cinematic forms — fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, hybrid, and beyond.

- Maximum runtime: 30 minutes (including credits).

- Films must have been completed after 2nd June 2024.

- Non-German language films must include German or English subtitles.

- Each filmmaker may submit up to two films.

- Selected works will be programmed in thematically curated blocks.

Eligibility & Submission Guidelines — Feature Film (Opening)

PARKFLIMMERN 2026 opens with a feature film. The same curatorial spirit applies. We particularly welcome submissions from Brandenburg or the eastern German states, and are especially interested in recent work or premieres, including graduation films.
