Olivia Wang王欧, Award-winning Actor between Australia and China, Producer, NPO founder, Multilingual, Intercultural expert, Wnner of Best Actress at several international film festivals, the First Voice of Chinese-Australian Performing Arts中澳跨文化戏剧第一人
Olivia Wang (王欧) is an award-winning Chinese–Australian screen actress working across art-house, character-driven, and cross-cultural cinema.
Her performance approach, Embodied Screen Acting, is grounded in a restrained, body-led screen language, where emotion is constructed through stillness, breath, gaze, and internal rhythm rather than external display. Her work often explores themes of migration, memory, and psychological interiority.
A multiple international Best Actress award winner, her performances have been recognised by the International Independent Film Awards, Sweden Film Awards, Thilsri International Film Festival, Athvikvaruni International Film Festival, Rohip International Film Festival, MIFF, and Sittannavasal International Film Festival, with finalist recognition at the New York International Film Awards, Top Shorts Film Festival, Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival, and Independent Shorts Awards.
Her breakout film Wake Her Up has screened at more than 30 international film festivals across North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia.
Alongside her screen work, she has performed in Chinese–Australian cross-cultural physical theatre, including at La Mama Theatre and major Australian arts festivals, developing a performance language that bridges Eastern and Western methodologies.
She is the founder of Cross Encounters, a Melbourne-based performing arts and screen initiative recognised by the Victorian Multicultural Award for Excellence in the Arts, with projects spanning film, theatre, and public cultural programming.
Olivia Wang's dedication to showcasing Asian-Australian culture through the performing arts has made a significant impact, earning her recognition as the leader and the ambassador for performing arts and cultural exchange. Olivia is the winner of contributions to Arts and Culture award in Yarra, alongside over ten nominations in arts and culture field. Olivia’s work has been featured by SBS and recognised across multiple arts publications. These achievements highlight Olivia Wang's presence as a leading figure in the Chinese-Australian performing arts scene.
She works internationally and is available for film, moving image, and performance-led screen projects, particularly those with a cross-cultural or character-driven focus.
