Nathan Pied is a French director, screenwriter and actor born on December 28, 2004 in eastern Paris. At the age of 13, audiovisual was no longer just a hobby, it became a real passion when he started directing audiovisual projects, mostly music videos. Having gained experience and fundamentals, he decided to devote himself entirely to cinema at the age of 17. He participated in several student projects and appeared in several productions, both amateur and professional. At the end of 2021, he joined the film club of his high school, with which he simultaneously shot three short films in 2022, including his first short film "La Nuit dernière" (Last Night) which he wrote and directed — finally unfinished despite a whole year of relentless production. On the other hand, "Hope" (2023), a short film on which he is at the same time director of photography, editor and slightly actor, is then his most accomplished project, the fruit of all his technical mastery, in spite of the harsh shooting conditions. At the end of 2022, he starts studying cinema at the Gustave Eiffel University. With his friends from the film club, they decide to found a collective called MÉCA7, which is born in 2023.
"Les films sont plus harmonieux que la vie. Il n'y a pas d'embouteillages dans les films, pas de temps mort. Les films avancent comme des trains, tu comprends, comme des trains dans la nuit. Des gens comme toi, comme moi, tu le sais bien, on est fait pour être heureux dans le travail, dans notre travail de cinéma." - François Truffaut
