Compact Cinema — Open Call (2–4 min)

Mycelens is an independent and emerging visual ecosystem dedicated to short audiovisual works, including videopoetry, experimental films, micro-documentaries, and hybrid formats.

Based in Helsinki (Finland), we embrace the idea of compact culture for the time we live in: less time, more meaning. Concise yet meaningful works that retain depth while adapting to shorter attention spans.

Our concept combines two interconnected dimensions:

-MYCELENS (Web-TV platform) Online streaming platform and will soon evolve into a TV-first streaming platform dedicated entirely to this format — a curated space where short films can be discovered and experienced beyond the fragmented logic of social media.

- MYCELINKS (Microcinema) is a parallel initiative starting in Helsinki, presenting curated selections of works through walking microcinemas (2–4 seats) — small, mobile cultural activators that connect films, artists, and audiences in physical space.

Together, they form an ecosystem where works move between digital and physical environments, and are connected through shared themes, forms, and sensibilities.

We are interested in films that explore body, intimacy, migration, identity, and cultural transformation, and that engage with short form as a distinct artistic language.

Submit your work and become part of the Mycelens network, which already includes artists from all continents, featuring both internationally awarded works and emerging voices.

By participating in this open call, you gain the opportunity to become part of the Mycelens ecosystem, including having your work featured on the web platform, the upcoming TV channel, and within the network of microcinemas. You will also have the chance to take part in the screening event to be held at Oodi Central Library—a world-renowned, innovative living space dedicated to culture and social exchange.
