ona Ibrahim
Award winning producer and film director Mona Ibrahim moved to Sydney in 2012. Her films have been screened around the world, including in the USA, Canada and Sydney. She won two Silver Awards from the Los Angeles Film Review, Independent Film Awards in 2017, for Time and Letters from the Afghany Woman, and also won the Macarthur Award in the 2017 Fisher’s Ghost competition, Campbelltown Arts Centre, for Je pense a toi. Mona is founder of the project Cinema of the Oppressed www.cinemaoftheoppressed.com. Cinema of the Oppressed aims is to help refugees to better connect to life in Sydney through the art of filmmaking. Mona established the project based on her experience as an art educator in Cairo and Jordan.
