𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗔𝗭𝗭𝗢 𝗙𝗜𝗟𝗠 𝗙𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗔𝗟 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟒

Eng | Milazzo Film Festival is an annual film festival founded in 2006 and taking place in Sicily. It screens films, documentaries and shorts connected to topical questions, anniversary celebrations and culture in general.
Alongside the festival, an international contest for free-theme shorts film is carried out. Freelance creators are invited to apply to the competition.

Ita | Il Milazzo Film Festival è una rassegna cinematografica e un concorso internazionale di cortometraggi a tema libero.
Nell’ambito della rassegna cinematografica, in ogni edizione il Comitato organizzatore promuove un ventaglio di temi connessi all’attualità, a celebrazioni di ricorrenze, alla cultura in generale.
Il concorso intende offrire spazi espressivi a videomaker indipendenti che, partendo da ispirazioni e riflessioni personali, sappiano esplorare nuove visioni sulla contemporaneità.

Awards & Prizes

Eng | Technical Jury, made of independent judges, will assign the following awards:

• Scarabeo d’Argento - Award for the best short film.
• Polifemo - Award for the best short film made by authors born or resident in Sicily.

Other awards:

• L’Ottava Isola - Award assigned by the MFF Organizing Committee.
• CortoBello - Award assigned by the audience through an online vote.
• DepaGroup - Award for the best short film on wellness, healthcare and elderly.
• Posidonia Award. The theme of this award, awarded by the MFF in collaboration with the "Capo Milazzo" Marine Protected Area, is the sea: an environmental heritage and principle of life, a source of health and well-being, a place of commitment and activity for millions of people.

Ita | Il comitato organizzativo del MFF2024 nominerà una Giuria qualificata che assegnerà i seguenti premi:
• Premio “Scarabeo d’Argento” al miglior cortometraggio.
• Premio “Polifemo” al miglior cortometraggio realizzato da autori nati o residenti in Sicilia.

Inoltre, saranno conferiti:
• Premio “L’Ottava Isola” assegnato dal comitato organizzativo del MFF.
• Premio “CortoBello” assegnato dal pubblico, attraverso una votazione in programma ogni serata del Milazzo Film Festival.
• Premio “DepaGroup”, assegnato al miglior cortometraggio a tema benessere, salute e terza età.

È stata istituita, infine, una sezione speciale dedicata al tema del mare. Il Consorzio Area Marina Protetta Capo Milazzo, Partner Istituzionale del Festival, assegnerà il:
• Premio “Posidonia” al cortometraggio che meglio di tutti promuoverà la tutela dell’ecosistema marino, raccontando del mare, dei suoi protagonisti (umani e animali), del lato avventuroso e di chi subisce nefaste conseguenze a causa del cambiamento climatico e dell’inquinamento.

FREE-THEME CONTEST
All genres are admitted (fiction, documentary, animation, experimental). Your short film must have been shot after January 1st, 2022.

15 MIN MAX LENGTH
Each work must last for a maximum of 15 minutes and must have a Full HD streaming resolution.

INTERNATIONAL SHORTS
The international short films will be accepted only if submitted with a transcript of the dialogues in English.

NO TO DEFAMATION AND DISCRIMINATION
If your short defames, discriminates, offends people, ethnic minorities, religions or violates privacy, will be excluded from the contest.

APPLY BEFORE JANUARY 15th
Applications must be sent by January 15th through FilmFreeway platform.

PARTICIPATION FEE
A participation fee of 5€ (early deadline) or 10€ (regular deadline) is required in order to submit the film. For environmental shorts, early deadline fee is null.

CONCORSO A TEMA LIBERO
Sono ammessi tutti i generi (fiction, documentario, animazione, sperimentazione e videoclip), purché il cortometraggio sia stato realizzato dopo il 1° gennaio 2022.

DURATA MAX 15 MINUTI e FHD
Le opere devono avere una durata massima di 15 minuti e una risoluzione di streaming minima pari a 1920x1080 pixel (Full HD).

NO DIFFAMAZIONE E DISCRIMINAZIONE
Saranno escluse le opere che diffamino, discriminino od offendano persone, popoli, minoranze, religioni e che siano invasivi della privacy altrui.

CANDIDATURE ENTRO 15 GENNAIO
Ci si può iscrivere esclusivamente mediante la piattaforma online FilmFreeway entro il 15 gennaio 2023.

CONTRIBUTO DI PARTECIPAZIONE
Per sostenere il Festival ti chiederemo un piccolo contributo di 5€ (early deadline) o 10€ (regular deadline) per l'iscrizione al Concorso. Per i cortometraggi a tema protezione del mare, entro la early deadline il contributo non è dovuto.
