Michael E. Berg was born in Mason City, IA and called Algona home until attending college at the University of Northern Iowa. He's now a two-time award-winning director, writer and producer whose short films have played from local to international venues.

With the support from his generous and patient wife, he founded Spilled Ink Cinema, LLC. Having started this effort later in life, he's actively trying to make up for lost time. His final self-produced short film Counterfeit should be released by Spring 2023.

Michael creates from the heartland and has a goal to see his feature scripts produced with him directing. "Spooked" and "Grimm Reapers" have achieved recognition in both the PAGE Awards and Script Pipeline screenwriting contests along with being published as script-books by 120pages.

While Michael has found measured success in several disciplines, the role of director has proven to be his true passion. He wants his shot at helming a feature project soon.
