The Melanin Man was born Donald Ward Jr. in Chicago IL, 1978. His family relocated to West Memphis Arkansas when he was 2 years old. In West Memphis The Melanin Man overcame drug addiction and a violent life of sporadic homelessness as a single father. He now owns a successful cab company in Clarksville Tennessee where he also pursues his love for music and film making . He is married and has four children.
