● About the Screen Arts Centre

This programme is provided by the Screen Arts Centre, a partnership between the Institute of Tourism Studies and the Mediterranean Screen Arts Academy. The Centre aims to foster creativity and excellence in screenwriting and filmmaking.

● About the Mediterranean Screen Arts Academy (MSAA)

The MSAA was founded by Palme d'Or Winner and Oscar-Nominated film director Roland Joffé. It is a premier institution offering world-class film training, guiding visionaries from concept and writing through to production and post-production, utilising cutting-edge technologies such as virtual sets with real-time graphics.

The winner will be awarded:
€5,000 cash prize
Exclusive experience in Los Angeles, including:
● Tour of the CAA office and a meeting with an expert
● Four 30-minute online mentoring sessions by top professionals in the field.

The 10 finalists will receive:
● Invitation to the awards ceremony
● Certificate recognizing their achievement in the Screen Arts Centre’s Screenwriting
Competition
● Recognition on the MSAA website
● One 30-minute online mentoring session.

● Submissions are accepted via Filmfreeway only.
● Minimum number of pages 45 maximum number 110 pages.
● Feature scripts only.
● English language only.
● All Genres accepted.
● Proper screenplay format.
● Final draft software or equivalent.
● Every script must have a separate treatment and character descriptions.
● More than one script may be submitted by the same writer but one script per submission fee.
● The script must remain anonymous, so no names may be put on the script indicating the writer of the script.
● The Screen Arts Centre claims no ownership nor option on your work. All ownership and rights to the scripts submitted to this contest remains with the original rights holders.
● The decision of the judges will be final and cannot be contested in any manner.
● The Screen Arts Centre reserves the right to change deadlines and announcement dates at any time.
● The Screen Arts Centre reserves the right to amend these rules at any time.
● By entering the competition, users acknowledge their eligibility for the competition.
● The Screen Arts Centre may verify all eligibility requirements at the finalist stage of the
competition and before distributing any prizes.
● It is the responsibility of the participant to adhere to the rules, if the rules are not followed the Screen Arts Centre has the right to automatically remove you from the competition.

Mediterranean Screen Arts Academy and its affiliates shall not be liable for any changes related to the competition, including but not limited to alterations in the timeline, adjudication of scripts by judges, distribution of prizes, and other associated aspects.
