MAC MARÍN - Atlantic Films & New Media is an emerging space that aims to promote the independennt cinema and audiovisual creation at the same time that pays homage to the local talent, valuing the Marin Town identity and its sourounded parishs , located in one of the most beautiful corners of Galicia, in the northwest of Spain, in Europe.

Our main objective is to connect the New Galician Filmmakers to the neighborhood, as well as to seek a connection between local creators with international audiovisual communities. We pay special attention to those who have been working into european values through media and cinema.

Rules & Terms

By submitting your work to MACM, you acknowledge that you have, understand and agree to follow our rules and regulations for submissions and abide by our terms and conditions of service and our non-festival rules and regulations.

Failure to comply with the guidelines, rules, regulations or requirements of MACM may be grounds for disqualification and cause your work to be removed from the competition.

By registering with the MACM you grant the organization or the right to screen your film or series publicly in the next edition of the MACM subject to the specific conditions stated in the bases of the festival.

Or participate in MACM, you acknowledge that you are not entitled to any refund or claim for damages of any kind if your work cannot be projected due to technical or operational difficulties or if the projection of your work must be rescheduled or delayed for any reason.

MACM will not reimburse any tax if the production company or legal representatives of the film or series do not present the work in the correct category. Films sent by means other than those indicated on the specific bases may be considered unfit.

All officially selected films and series with dialogues in a language other than Galician or Spanish MUST include a copy with subtitles in any of these languages ​​or English.

If you want to register your work as PREMIERE, you MUST notify the festival organization and provide a high-resolution digital file (MOV or MPG4).

Films in the Galician language must not include Spanish subtitles, but we do recommend that they include Galician subtitles for people with special hearing abilities.

Or register your work in the MACM, the participants exempt the organization, collaborators, contracted personnel and volunteer personnel, from all responsibility for loss, damage, right, claim and action of derivative type totally or partially, directly or indirectly, from participation No contest or participation in calquera activities related to the contest and the activities of the festival.

Or register your work in MACM, you grant the organization of the festival the rights to use screenshots, press materials and fixed images or short video fragments of the work in our advertisements, press materials, festival programs and website during a minimum of 1 year before and after the date of celebration of the contest.

Or send your application to MACM, you acknowledge that you are 18 years of age or older.

    Mac Marín is a summer international festival held in the town of Marín, very close to the city of Pontevedra, in Galicia, an Atlantic territory full of history and tradition. The festival is beginning to stand out among Galician festivals, offering numerous competition categories: new talent, best web series, best short film, best feature film, best actor/actress, and more. It also strives to become an international reference festival. With only four editions under its belt, it has already become the only Galician festival to nominate for the Web Series World Cup. Another attraction of the festival is that it brings cinema to every corner of the town of Marín. This way, they involve all the locals in the event. This makes its execution more technically complicated, but the enthusiasm and desire of the organizers overcome all difficulties. Without a doubt, this is a festival with a great future that you can't miss!

    Tuve el privilegio de participar recientemente en el Festival Mac Marín con un documental. La experiencia superó todas mis expectativas, no solo por la excelente mustra de los materiales seleccionados, sino por la calidad humana y profesional con la que se desarrolla el festival.

    Desde el primer contacto, la organización mostró un nivel de compromiso ejemplar: comunicación clara y acompañamiento constante.

    La programación fue diversa, con obras del auidovisual gallego y foráneo, que mostraban distintas voces y miradas.

    Estoy agradecida por la oportunidad de haber formado parte de esta edición y de haber recibido el reconocimiento en Talento Emergente.

    Estaba muy emocionada de ser parte de este festival y de ser incluida en el programa de Cortos Atlánticos con mi doc “Olas de Recuerdo” (Memories of Salt). Sin embargo el día del programa, no tocaron mi peli. Mi familia que estaba ahí para verla preguntó al programador y dijeron que no la tenían y que había tocado en otra ocasión? Nadie del festival habló conmigo para ofrecer una explicación o avisarme de cualquier cambio de planes lo cual resultó en que no pudimos participar en ese festival. Aunque por las fotos que vi parece un lindo festival que está haciendo mucho para el cine gallego, para mí fue decepcionante la falta de comunicación, y la exclusión de repente del programa. :(
