Lorenzo Muscoso is the Artistic Director of the Official Celebration of the Centenary Giovanni Verga and has been in charge of the Verghiano Festival for 10 years. Originally from Vizzini - the writer's hometown - he is a director, producer and writer. He graduated from the DAMS University of Roma Tre with a thesis on Paolo Sorrentino. He is also a graduate of the Rossellini Audiovisual Institute and also attends the Law and Business Marketing course. He has produced documentaries, short films and medium-length films, set in Sicily, which have received various awards. Events supported by the European Parliament, Unesco, the Sicily Region and Rai Cultura. He is the Artistic Director of several Film Festivals in Italy, including the Euromediterranean Award and the Matera Festival, where he collaborates with Netflix and the Martin Scorsese team. As a director he wrote and directed transpositions of Verga's operas, represented in Sicily, Puglia, Basilicata and Lombardy. He also managed the communication of Cirque Du Soleil in Sicily and he is the author of various books on cinema and multimedia contents. He has taught Cinema at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and has conducted various conferences, including at La Sapienza in Rome and Unibas in Matera and conducted various masterclasses with Alexis Sweet and the Oscar winner Dante Ferretti, and lastly the conference “Raccontando Verga ”At the Feltrinelli Foundation in Milan in collaboration with the municipal administration. He is also the author of the "Capitani Coraggiosi" event in the field of legality, in memory of the Judges Falcone and Borsellino which every year sees the participation of students, law enforcement agencies, magistrates and associations and personalities from Leoluca Orlando to Pasquale Scimeca and Veronica D'Agostino, Tony Sperandeo, Marco Amenta and the “Gerzia” project against violence against women. He cooperated with the American government for the Marines Meet Verga project, obtaining three awards for commitment. Finally, he has received several awards including, for social journalism, the ACI Galateo and the Messina Award. In the summer of 2022 he successfully staged the various Verga novellas in Catania, Ragusa, Syracuse, Palermo and Modica

Lorenzo Muscoso è Direttore artistico della Manifestazione Ufficiale Celebrativa del Centenario Giovanni Verga e da 10 anni cura il Festival Verghiano. Originario di Vizzini - città natia dello scrittore - è un regista, produttore e scrittore. Si laurea presso l'Università DAMS di Roma Tre con una tesi su Paolo Sorrentino. E’ altresì diplomato all'Istituto Audiovisivo Rossellini e frequenta anche il corso di Giurisprudenza e Business Marketing. Ha prodotto documentari, cortometraggi e mediometraggi, ambientati in Sicilia, che hanno ricevuto vari riconoscimenti. Eventi supportati dal Parlamento Europeo, Unesco, Regione Sicilia e Rai Cultura. E’ il Direttore artistico di diversi Film Festival in Italia, tra cui il Premio Euromediterraneo e il Festival di Matera, dove collabora con Netflix e il team di Martin Scorsese. Come regista ha scritto e diretto trasposizioni delle opere verghiane, rappresentate in Sicilia, Puglia, Basilicata e Lombardia. Ha gestito anche la comunicazione del Cirque Du Soleil in Sicilia ed è Autore di vari libri sul cinema e contenuti multimediali. Ha insegnato Cinema all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma e ha condotto varie conferenze, tra cui a La Sapienza di Roma e Unibas a Matera e condotto varie masterclass con Alexis Sweet e il Premio Oscar Dante Ferretti, e in ultimo il convegno “Raccontando Verga” presso la Fondazione Feltrinelli di Milano in collaborazione con l’amministrazione comunale. E’ altresì autore anche dell'evento “Capitani Coraggiosi” nell’ambito della legalità, nel ricordo dei Giudici Falcone e Borsellino che vede ogni anno la partecipazione di studenti, Forze dell’Ordine, Magistrati e Associazioni e personalità da Leoluca Orlando a Pasquale Scimeca e Veronica D’Agostino, Tony Sperandeo, Marco Amenta e del progetto “Gerzia” contro la violenza sulle donne. Ha cooperato con il Governo Americano per il progetto Marines Meet Verga ottenendo tre riconoscimenti all’impegno. Infine, ha ricevuto diversi premi tra cui, per il giornalismo sociale, l’ACI Galateo e il Premio Messina. Nell'estate 2022 ha messo in scena con successo le varie novelle verghiane a Catania, Ragusa, Siracusa, Palermo e Modica
