Lionel Nishimwe is a film director born and raised in Burundi. He started his artistic venture as a painter, fashion model and photographer. In 2021 he became the youngest ever film director to win 2 award at International festival of cinema and audiovisual of Burundi where his short film Thema won best short , best picture and best male actor . the following year ;he became the youngest film director to win an award at Mashiriki film festival where he won the the Signis East Africa Talent award with his short film A colorful life .
