I’m Alex Semenov, an independent animation director working under the name Lazy Square. For nearly a decade, I’ve been creating independently produced animated shorts combining dark humor, retro-inspired visuals, and social satire. My work has accumulated hundreds of millions of views online and has been featured by publications including Rolling Stone, Stash Magazine, and Skwigly. Some viewers may recognize my viral reimagining of The Simpsons couch gag, along with shorts such as “30 Wasted Years”. In 2020, I received the “Best Film Under One Minute” award at the Azyl International Film Festival in Slovakia. I currently live and work in the United States, where I continue producing independent animated films as a one-person animation studio.
