5TH Lanterna Mágica – International Animation Festival
1) Objectives
I – The Lanterna Mágica – International Animation Festival aims to promote and disseminate the Brazilian and worldwide animation market through competitive and non-competitive exhibitions of short and feature films, whose guidelines follow in this regulation.
2) Subscriptions
I – The entries for the 5th edition of the Lanterna Mágica will be open until September 19, 2022, with possibilities of extension by the organization of the festival.
II – Animated short films with a maximum duration of 25 minutes originating in any and all world territories are eligible for inclusion.
III - Feature films, medium-length films, episodes of animated series and video clips will only be shown upon invitation from the festival's organization.
IV – Films released before January 1, 2019 will not be accepted. By saying “Released” we means the first screening of the film at festivals.
V – Films selected and / or exhibited in previous editions of the Lanterna Mágica festival will not be considered for evaluation.
VI – Films registered and not selected in previous editions may reapply, provided they comply with the requirements of this regulation.
VII – The films must be of the animation genre, performed in any technique.
VIII – Hybrid films will also be accepted provided they use animation techniques in at least 50% of their duration.
IX – In this 5th edition of the festival, the registration must be exclusively through the FilmFreeway plataform trough the link:https://filmfreeway.com/festivals.
X - The person responsible for the registration must fill out the information requested by the platform before sending the film and is subject to disqualification if they are incomplete. Some materials like teaser and poster are not required items, but it is recommended that they be sent.
XI – Stills, synopsis, production country, director and the entire film itself are mandatory information / items and their absence on the platform will be grounds for disqualification of the film.
XII – Films that do not have Portuguese, English or Spanish as their original language hás to be subtitled in one of these languages, under penalty of disqualification.
XIII - Each film can be registered in only one of the categories listed on the FilmFreeway platform, they are: Brazilian Short Films (For short films by natural or naturalized Brazilian directors); Latin American Short Films (For short films by natural or naturalized latin american directors); and International Short Films (For short films by foreign directors).
XIV – An entry fee of US$ 5 will be charged only for films entered in the International Short Films category.
3) Selection
I – The films enrolled will go through an official curatorship that will later be announced on the official website and social networks of the festival.
II – All films submitted, whether Brazilian, Latin American or international, will be divided into competitive and/or non-competitive screenings, according to the criteria of the festival's organization.
III – All exhibitions, official and special, may be composed of films and / or invited guests, at the discretion of the curators.
IV – Those responsible for the selected films should pay attention to the e-mails and telephones provided at the time of registration, and meet the demands of the festival, such as the sending of a copy of the exhibition and other divulgation materials, under penalty of disqualification if it does not comply with the requests.
V – The expenses related to the sending of the material for exhibition are the responsibility of the director.
VI - The list of selected films will be released on a date stipulated later by the festival's production.
4) Awards
I – The official jury will elect the winning films of the competitive shows. The winning films will receive a certificate mentioning their respective awards.
II – The official jury may offer honorable mention to one of the films in competition, at its discretion, which will also receive a certificate.
III - The popular jury will elect the Best Film in the competitive shows. The winning films of the Popular Jury will also receive certificates.
V – Prizes of sponsors, supporters and partners can be offered in all the festival screenings: competitive, non-competitive and special, according to the combination between them and the organization of the Lanterna Mágica.
4) Final Provisions
I – All the information provided on the FilmFreeway platform can be used for dissemination on the festival website, social networks and other media.
II – The director agrees that stills, posters, teasers and images of the film (up to 30 seconds) may also be used for the purpose of publicizing the festival.
III – The person responsible for the registration of the film may opt for the authorization of non-profit itinerant exhibitions and with free access to the community that the festival may promote in dates and places different from the official program of the Lanterna Mágica.
IV – The films selected for the 5th edition of the “Lanterna Mágica – International Animation Festival”, authorize, in the simple act of its registration, the exhibition of the movie in the same, without any burden to the festival.
V – The person in charge of the registration agrees with all the terms of this regulation at the time of the registration of the film

REGULAMENTO
5º Lanterna Mágica – Festival Internacional de Animação
1) Objetivos
I – O Lanterna Mágica – Festival Internacional de Animação tem o intuito de promover e difundir o mercado de animação brasileiro e mundial através da realização de mostras competitivas e não competitivas de curtas e longas-metragens inscritos e selecionados por nossa curadoria e/ou convidados, cujas diretrizes seguem neste regulamento.
2) Inscrições
I – As inscrições para a 5ª edição do Lanterna Mágica ficarão abertas até o dia 19/09/2022, com possibilidades de prorrogação a cargo da organização do festival.
II – Estão aptos a serem inscritos os curtas-metragens de animação com duração máxima de 25 minutos originários de todos e quaisquer territórios mundiais.
III - Longas-metragens, médias-metragens, episódios de séries e videoclipes de animação, apenas serão exibidos mediante convite da organização do festival.
IV – Não serão aceitos filmes com data de lançamento anterior a 01 de janeiro de 2019. Entende-se por “lançamento” a primeira exibição do filme em festivais.
V – Não serão considerados para avaliação os filmes selecionados e/ou exibidos em edições anteriores do festival Lanterna Mágica.
VI – Os filmes inscritos e não selecionados em edições anteriores poderão se inscrever novamente, desde que cumpram os requisitos deste regulamento.
VII – Os filmes devem ser do gênero animação, realizados em qualquer técnica.
VIII – Também serão aceitos filmes híbridos, desde que utilizem técnicas de animação em pelo menos 50% de sua duração.
IX – Nesta 5ª edição do festival a inscrição deverá ser realizada exclusivamente através da plataforma FilmFreeway, através do link: https://filmfreeway.com/lanternamagicafestival.
X - O responsável pela inscrição deverá preencher as informações solicitadas pela plataforma antes de enviar o filme e está sujeito a desclassificação caso as mesmas estejam incompletas. Alguns materiais como teaser e cartaz não são itens obrigatórios, mas recomenda-se que sejam enviados.
XI – Stills, sinopse, país de produção, diretor e o próprio filme na íntegra são informações/itens obrigatórios e a ausência dos mesmos na plataforma FilmFreeway poderá ser motivo para desclassificação do filme inscrito.
XII – Os filmes que não tenham o português, o inglês ou o espanhol como língua original, deverão estar legendados em uma dessas línguas, sob pena de desclassificação.
XIII – Cada filme poderá ser inscrito em apenas uma das categorias listadas na plataforma FilmFreeway, são elas: Curtas Brasileiros (Para curtas de diretores brasileiros natos ou naturalizados); Curtas Latino-americanos (Para curtas de diretores latino-americanos natos ou naturalizados); e Curtas Internacionais (Para curtas de diretores estrangeiros).
XIV – Será cobrada uma taxa de inscrição de US$ 5 apenas para os filmes inscritos na categoria Curtas Internacionais.
3) Seleção
I – Os filmes inscritos passarão por uma curadoria oficial que posteriormente será divulgada no site e nas redes sociais oficiais do festival.
II – Todos os filmes inscritos, sejam brasileiros, latino-americanos ou internacionais, serão divididos em mostras competitivas e/ou não competitivas, de acordo com os critérios da organização do festival.
IV – Todas as mostras podem ser compostas por filmes inscritos e/ou convidados, a critério da curadoria.
V - Os responsáveis pelos filmes selecionados deverão ficar atentos aos e-mails e telefones fornecidos no momento da inscrição, e atender às demandas do festival, como o envio de cópia de exibição e demais materiais de divulgação, sob pena de desclassificação caso não cumpra as solicitações.
VI - As despesas relativas ao envio do material para exibição ficarão a cargo do responsável pelo filme inscrito.
VII - A lista de obras selecionadas será divulgada em data estipulada posteriormente pela produção do festival.
4) Premiação
I – O Júri Oficial elegerá os filmes premiados das mostras competitivas. Os filmes premiados receberão um certificado com menção às suas respectivas premiações.
II – O Júri Oficial poderá oferecer menção honrosa a um dos filmes em competição, a seu critério, que também receberá certificado.
III – O Júri Popular elegerá o Melhor Filme das mostras competitivas. Os filmes vencedores do Júri Popular também receberão certificados.
IV – Prêmios de patrocinadores, apoiadores e parceiros poderão ser oferecidos em todas as mostras do festival: competitivas e não competitivas, de acordo com o combinado entre os mesmos e a organização do Lanterna Mágica.
4) Disposições Finais
I – Todas as informações fornecidas pelos filmes na plataforma FilmFreeway poderão ser utilizadas para divulgação no site do festival, nas redes sociais e nos demais veículos de comunicação.
II – O realizador concorda que stills, cartazes, teasers e imagens do filme (Até 30 segundos) também poderão ser utilizadas para fins de divulgação do festival.
III – O responsável pela inscrição do filme poderá optar pela autorização de exibições itinerantes sem fins lucrativos e com acesso gratuito à comunidade que porventura o festival promova em datas e locais distintos da programação oficial do Lanterna Mágica.
IV – Os filmes selecionados para a 5ª edição do “Lanterna Mágica – Festival Internacional de Animação”, autorizam, no simples ato de sua inscrição, a exibição da obra no mesmo, sem quaisquer ônus ao festival.
V – O responsável pela inscrição concorda com todos os termos deste regulamento no ato da inscrição da obra.
