KO(O)RTS is a Short Film Festival showcasing a wide variety of underground, experimental & Art House movies. KO(O)RTS festival aims to provide a platform for (emerging) filmmakers to showcase their work, celebrate creativity and connect communities through short films. The festival wants to give new filmmakers the opportunity to broaden their horizons and get in touch with the different aspects of the world of cinema. The festival is also an occasion to meet peers, learn from each other and invent new projects!
At the same time, the festival offers a diverse public an alternative and fun film program for locals and international.
Next to the various screenings the festival hosts workshops, meet-ups and playful installations. In this way, we strive to create a vibrant event that brings together both filmmakers and film lovers and celebrates the art of short films.

KO(O)RTS is een Short film festival dat een ruim aanbod aan underground-, experimentele en arthouse films vertoont.
Het KO(O)RTS Short Film Festival heeft als doel een platform te bieden aan (opkomende) filmmakers om hun werk te tonen, creativiteit te vieren en gemeenschappen te verbinden door middel van korte films. Het festival wil jonge filmmakers de kans geven om hun horizon te verbreden en in contact te komen met de filmwereld. Tegelijkertijd bieden we het publiek een alternatief en boeiend filmprogramma.
Naast de diverse vertoningen organiseert het festival ook workshops, meetups en speelse installaties. Op deze manier streven we ernaar een bruisend evenement te creëren dat zowel filmmakers als filmliefhebbers samenbrengt en de kunst van de korte film viert.
What we’re looking for
- Weird, wicked and wonderful short films of any genre or style
- Experimental, art house, hybrid, documentary, animation, or narrative
- Emerging and established filmmakers welcome
- International submissions accepted
Selection Process
Once you submit your film, our international team will watch and review your project. Together they will create a diverse selection for the festival's program. The official selection will be announced online via the website and social media in August.
Awards & Prizes
The festival program is made of multiple movie blocks, curated around relevant themes. At the end of the screenings, the public is invited to vote and choose their favourite short from each block. All the favourites are screened a second time to compete for the KO(O)RTS award!
The winner receives a trophy and eternal glory!
