Open children and youth film festival Kinovertikal has held in Saratov since 2014. Young participants create their own cinema product. It should be fiction/documentary/animated short-length film. The purpose of the festival concludes interpretation social processes and using it in their own films.
During festival, the young filmmakers take part in public celebrity talks and master classes.
Over the years, special festival guests were theater and film actors Natalia Bondarchuk, Dmitry Pevtsov, Maxim Matveev, Elena Koreneva, Andrey Tashkov, Irina Pegova, Vyacheslav Chepurchenko, Nikolai Burlyaev, Konstantin Milovanov, film directors Alexander Adabashyan, Anna Chernakova, Alexander Galibin, Maria Kravchenko, Ivan Tverdovsky, Ivan Shakhnazarov, Sergey Dvortsevoy, Anastasia Palchikova, film critic Yegor Moskvitin and others.
VIII open children and youth film festival Kinovertikal will take place in Saratov in October 4-8, 2021.

Participation in the Festival is free.
A participant or authors group may submit to apply for the Festival committee of no more than one work in a category, in common no more than three works.
The competition is held in two age categories:
- 5-16 years old;
- 17-22 years old.
The film must dubbed in Russian/have Russian subtitles.
The duration of the films is from 3 to 10 minutes.
The participants should apply for:
short film (only mpeg 2 format).
