Screenwriter Jess Grant is a native of Los Angeles and a graduate of the University of Washington’s screenwriting program. He spent decades writing songs (folk and rock) and journalism (music criticism and investigative reporting) before transitioning to screenwriting in 2013. Songwriting and journalism taught Jess two lessons that have proved valuable as a screenwriter: how to be concise, and the importance of putting a person at the center of your story.
Jess’ ten scripts have received a dozen laurels (including two first-place finishes), while his short script The Boarding House (adapted from a memoir) was produced and released in 2018 by his company Dulcet Productions LLC (in collaboration with Abundant Productions). Jess' interest in drama dates back to his sophomore year in high school when he appeared as Snoopy in You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown. He lives in Edmonds, WA.
