Jenna Kanell is a queer, gender non-conforming woman who delivered a TEDx Talk on the experience of writing, directing, and producing alongside her disabled brother. Their short film screened at nearly forty film festivals worldwide, winning nine awards and bringing them to speak at institutions such as Harvard Medical School.
Jenna has since assistant directed features, directed and edited fundraising videos, and produced a feature documentary on addiction recovery. She's also written and directed numerous award-winning short films, including the dark comedy "Max & The Monster," which premiered during the opening night of the Austin Film Festival, and the sci-fi rom-com "Bliss Is Orange," which premiered at OutFest and now lives on the Gunpowder and Sky Youtube channel DUST.
Jenna also works as a union actor and stunt performer: she stars in "Abducted," nominated for Best Narrative Short at Tribeca Film Festival, and appears in shows (including Marvel’s “WandaVision”), and films (including the cult horror hit "Terrifier,” Jason Reitman’s "The Front Runner," and Universal's upcoming "Renfield").
She is proudest of teaching her cat to high five.
