【Past Events】
We've rolled films with Gérald Depardieu. With Naoto Takenaka. We've listened to Yui Masayuki (Akira Kurosawa Film)speak after his short—quiet, steady, no drama. Bruce Nakaba ran a workshop, one hour, Hollywood sharp. No fluff. Everyone took notes.

We look to the auteurs — Kurosawa, Fellini, Bergman, Kubrick, Godard — who spoke their truth through images, not noise. We are Tokyo Cinema Union. Founded in 2012 because we were sick of waiting for doors to open. So we kicked one. Made films. Made noise. Then realised real noise isn't made in meetings—it's made when strangers sit together and forget they're strangers. That's why we built JWFF. Not for us. For you. We feel the same. We're here. 【スクリーンが回り、心が震える】
ジャパンワールド映画祭（JWFF）は、ライブ上映の国際短編映画祭です。オンラインなんてない。ただ本物の観客が詰めかけた会場で、息を潜めてスクリーンを見つめ映画祭。JWFFは旅する映画祭として、世界中のハイクオリティな短編を日本各地で上映してきました。これまで東京、長野、茨城で開催。遠くの国の物語が日本人の目に触れるとき、そこに広がるのは世界の多様な文化。そして同時に、各都道府県の独自の伝統や価値が再発見される。
その交差の中で、国境が溶けていく。グローバルな声が日本の多様性を響かせ、どこにいても同じ人間の糸で繋がっていることに気がつく。選ばれた監督たちは、この広いフロンティアで本物の露出を得る——スクリーンでつながる、魂の交流が本映画祭の大切にしているところです。

【過去の上映から】
ジェラール・ドパルデューが出演した作品。竹中直人さんの作品。油井昌由樹（黒澤明監督作品）さんが自作の後に語った言葉 — 静かで、確かで、会場を包んだ。ハリウッドプロデューサーのブルース・ナックバーさんがハリウッドの技を余すことなく伝えた１時間のワークショップ。飾り気なし。みんながノートを取った。

【インスピレーション】
黒澤明、フェリーニ、ベルイマン、キューブリック、ゴダール — 彼らは大声で叫ばなかった。ただ息をした。それだけで一世代が耳を澄ました。私たちはそれを探している。派手な花火、トレンドではなく、ただ正直なフレームが残す傷、あるいは息づかい。

グランプリ受賞者は、茨城里山で1〜2週間の完全サポート滞在（宿泊・食事・現地移動・通訳・制作支援すべてJWFF負担、渡航費はご自身で）＋初日授賞式ステージ登場＋地元住民とのシナリオハンティング体験＋JWFF選定監督による短編映画化（2027年JWFFでプレミア上映確定）という、世界でここだけの贅沢な機会を提供します。

私たちは東京シネマユニオン。2012年、ドアが開くのを待つのに疲れて、自分で蹴破った。映画を作った。声を上げた。そして気づいた。本当の声は会議室じゃなく、見知らぬ人たちが一緒に座って、知らぬ間に他人じゃなくなる瞬間に生まれる。
