RULES AND PROCEDURES OF REGISTERING TO THE 2023 IMAJITARI FESTIVAL
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The IMAJITARI Festival is a International dance film festival organized by the DKJ Dance Committee (Jakarta Arts Council)
FILM MATERIAL POLICY
The IMAJITARI Festival is open to various forms and experiments of dance films with a theme Respiritualize Cinema, with a duration between 1-30 minutes, of which were produced within the last three years.
DEADLINE
IMAJITARI Festival registration is open from September 15th until October 15th 2023
There is no registration fee for registered films, and applicants may submit a maximum of 2 (two) films.
SHIPPING POLICY
Online submissions can include a link (with password), or an active website to the IMAJITARI Festival email. The IMAJITARI Festival committee does not cover shipping and insurance costs for applicants who send their dance films in physical form.
SCREENING.
The viewing format is DVD and digital video files with the QuickTime .mov extension (Apple Pro Res/H.264) video codec. For dance films included in the competition program screening, the IMAJITARI Festival committee will not bear the screening fee.
COPYRIGHT
Violation of copyright against dance film works included in the IMAJITARI festival is beyond the responsibility of the IMAJITARI Festival, and the festival committee has the right to cancel the participation of films in the IMAJITARI Festival.
PERMISSION TO USE THE WORK
Dance films submitted to the IMAJITARI festival will be kept by the DKJ Dance Committee (Jakarta Arts Council) as archives, research, as well as educational materials, as it is a non-profit program. The use of archived materials for the IMAJITARI Dance Film Festival, will seek permission or receive consent from the respective filmmakers and producers for all activities related to the use of films outside the festival.
COMPETITION
IMAJITARI AWARD
There will six (6) film award categories presented by the judges.
SCREENING MATERIALS.
The applicants selected for the competition program will be asked to send a DVD Screener, an internet link that can be invited (along with a password, if any), or a link to an internet page (along with a password) that can be accessed by the committee.
(Please note that DVD Screener will not be returned.)
We will confirm the acceptance of your film entry before the date specified in the festival invitation via email. Acceptance of participation means the director, producer, distributor, and all other parties involved in the film agree to partake in the festival. Dance films selected in the competition program and confirmed by the applicant, cannot be withdrawn from the IMAJITARI Festival program.
CATALOGS, MEDIA DEVICES, AND PUBLICATIONS
Dance films selected in the competition program will be asked to complete film materials required to prepare the festival catalog, publications, and festival program presentations which include: List of credit titles, film descriptions, ProRes or H.264 files.
The IMAJITARI Festival has the right to edit and translate film descriptions, use film fragments (maximum 30 seconds) for publication, and use all materials (still images, trailers, or other included publications) to promote the festival.
In essence, the contents of the IMAJITARI Festival catalog will include the following technical and artistic credits: original title, international title, director’s name, film duration, country of origin, year of production, premiere status, format, film production company, producer name, and sales agent and film distribution.
IMAJITARI Festival is not responsible if later there are inaccuracies in the publication due to errors in the registration stage of the required materials (both publication materials and broadcast materials). The contents of the program curatorial writing are the full authority of the IMAJITARI Festival organizing committee.
The IMAJITARI Festival also has the right to record festival activities and discussions accompanying the screenings as documentation of activities and publications.
SELECTED FILM
ANNOUNCEMENT.
Selected films will be announced via the applicant’s email and on www.IMAJITARI.org and www.jicon.id
SCREENING SCHEDULE.
The determination of the schedule and timing for the screening of the film for the public and the press is entirely under the authority of the IMAJITARI Festival organizing committee.
CANCELLATION.
Films selected for screening cannot be withdrawn from participating in the festival program.
CLOSING
All conditions for IMAJITARI Festival mentioned above apply unconditionally. For certain cases, each final decision is the authority of the organizer.
