Rules
IFOF focus is on adventure, extreme, adrenaline and travel film. On audience interested in extreme sports as well as travel expeditions and different cultures. IFOF is a touring competion film festival in places in the Czech Republic and eventually with co-operation of organisers in other countries. Organizers mission is to present films in IFOF competition all around the Czech Republic and eventually with co-operation of organisers in other countries..
1 PARTICIPATION
Filmmakers from the Czech Republic and all around the world, professionals as well as amateurs, film and TV producers are welcome to participate in IFOF competition tour. Submitted films must fulfill the conditions and rules of this competition. Also films submitted for other competitions and festivals in the Czech Republic and abroad can be submitted. The submitted films are not limited by year of creation.

3 PLACE AND TERM
IFOF – competition and touring festival of sports, adventure, extreme, adrenaline and travel film will take place not only in selected towns around Czech Republic but also all of the competetive chosen films are going to be broadcasted on TV NOE from October to December 2026. The festival closing ceremony, the announcement of the best films and the award ceremony for the winners will take place live on TV NOE in Ostrava on December 5, 2026 at 8 p.m. The gala evening will include a screening of nominated films, musical performances and the award-winning filmmakers will be invited to the television studio.
4 FESTIVAL JURY AND SELECTION COMMITTEE
Competition works are evaluated by a jury appointed by the organizer in cooperation with TV NOE. The jury's decision is final. The jury will select works that meet the given criteria for this competition and festival. These films will compete and will be broadcast on TV NOE and screened in some selected locations of this traveling festival. The main prize - GRAND PRIX - will be awarded to the film based on the audience's evaluation. The jury has the right to exclude films that are exclusively amateur, family or advertising in nature, or are otherwise of poor quality, do not fit into the festival's dramaturgy or are not interesting to the jury and the audience.
5 CATEGORIES
The submitted works will be divided into 2 categories:
a) short film up to 15 minutes
b) medium and feature-length film
All films must be in the outdoor genre (adventure, extreme sports, climbing, mountain, adventure water sports, travel film).
Films can also be: animated, historical, filmed in earlier years, black and white.
6 FESTIVAL AWARDS
The jury may award films that participate and will be selected for the competition
for example, with the following prizes:
a) The main prize of the festival (awarded title regardless of the category -
the GRAND PRIX prize).
b) Festival prizes in the short film category - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
c) Festival prizes in the medium and long film categories - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place
d) Special prize
e) Prize for extraordinary lifetime achievement.
f) Special prizes, e.g. prize for cinematography, script, historical contribution, prize for
a film shot in extreme conditions, etc.
The winners will receive diplomas, a glass sculpture and the 1st place winners will receive financial prizes in the total amount of 50,000 CZK (2,000 EUR). The organizer undertakes to send the prizes no later than 3 months after the end of the festival. The organizer will inform the general public about the course of this festival. Selected competition films will be broadcast 1 + 3 (competition premiere and competition reruns, including the program Echoes IFOF). The jury reserves the right, in justified cases, not to award any of the announced prizes or to award the same prize to a pair of films. By sending a film to the competition, the competitor grants the non-exclusive right to broadcast on TV NOE and the right to VOD.
7 APPLICATION FORM & SUBMISSION OF FILMS INTO THE COMPETITION
The application for entry into the competition and festival must be sent separately for each work - film, using the IFOF entry form or using the FilmFreeway service.
The entry form - application must be filled out exclusively electronically, indicating the
contact addresses, phone number, e-mail, etc. Optimal requirements for video: 1080p,
HD1080i, HD720p, HD720i. Formats: wmv, mp4, mov(h264), mpg or television
quality. All works must be sent electronically by 30. 6. 2026.
The selection committee has the right to exclude poor-quality and imperfect copies from the competition.
The application is considered closed if the following conditions are met by 30. 6. 2026 (later submitted films, applications or other materials will be automatically included in the next year of the festival):
a) The application form will be filled out with all necessary information, a short description of the film (up to 500 characters) and a trailer.
b) The film will be sent completely and without errors electronically using an electronic
mail service with a link to the prolink to info@outdoorfilms.cz.
c) The films should be in Czech or Slovak if possible or should be subtitled in these languages. Otherwise, a dialogue sheet in the format SRT (.srt) or web VTT (.vtt) with a time script in the original language and in English must be attached.
d) At least (possibly more) 3 photos for the film must be sent. The ideal way is electronically via a download link. Always send photos in the highest quality possible. The photos will be used for advertising purposes and the presentation of the film on the website of the organizer Outdoorfilms and co-organizer TV NOE.
The films are screened to Czech audiences in their original version with translated subtitles. Films sent without a completed application form will not be included in the competition.
The costs associated with sending prizes to festival winners and authors of awarded films, festival advertising materials, souvenirs, etc. are covered by the organizer. The filmmaker - author who enters a film into the competition does not pay any entry fee to the festival organizer.
8 PARTICIPATION APPROVAL
By submitting the film, the author agrees to all the conditions in the mentioned competition rules.
