About Frame Shift

Frame Shift is a festival at the intersection of animation, visual effects, and AI in filmmaking, taking place from 20–22 May at Rajasthan International Centre, Jaipur.

At its core lies a simple idea: animation is not a genre, it is a way of seeing. A language. A tool that allows stories to exist beyond the limits of recorded reality.

What happens in the absence of recorded memory? How do we reconstruct stories when there is no footage to rely on? Through animation, AI, and visual experimentation, Frame Shift examines how imagination fills these gaps, building worlds that feel just as real, if not more.

Bringing together filmmakers, artists, technologists, and thinkers, the festival is a space to question, explore, and redefine storytelling in a rapidly evolving visual culture.

This is not just about watching films.
It’s about understanding how they are imagined.

Three best films will recieve award of Rs. 50,000 each
