IFAESF was born in Rome, Italy in July 2023 and launched on the FilmFreeway platform by AMCcopyright. It is a Festival dedicated exclusively to short films with particular attention to Experimental Short Films and Silent Short Films including Underwater Short Films.

IFAESF is currently an online event.

Especially in this first and growing phase of the Festival, there will be many discount offers that we will use as an advertising investment, to ensure that our project spreads as much as possible on an international level and can become increasingly important.

Its aim is to celebrate fine art filmmakers and their unique visions in experimental and art films via streaming.

Awards & Prizes

Our Jury will select the Best of each categories and choose the winner who will be qualified by the our goals and vision.

Only on certain and announced occasions will networking events be organized.

Winners will receive digital laurel and certificate.

Rules & Terms

We consider all short films, but especially emphasize those of an experimental nature. This can be abstract, silent, narrative or documentary.

Films with a maximum duration of 30 minutes will be considered short films. Within 5 minutes they will be considered as micro shorts.

The film must be downloadable via FilmFreeway. If your film is password protected, please send the password to the festival director.

Selection for the festival does not guarantee screening during the festival. We may contact you only in exceptional cases, to obtain permission to include your film in special nights of film events where festival selections are scheduled.

• Registration fees are non-refundable

• It is possible to participate in multiple categories, but each Submission requires a registration fee

• Your membership will be eligible for any prizes available in the category or categories you choose with your membership.

• Content authors must be at least 18 years old

• The submitted short film should have english subtitles (if not in english)

• No pornography

• No nudity

• Contributions must be the intellectual property of the submitter and/or their team. Proxy mailings are not permitted. By submitting to International Festival of Arts and Experimental Short Films, you confirm that you own the rights to (or are authorized to use) any audio and video in your experimental film.
