Ibero-America:
A region in the Americas comprising countries or territories where Spanish or Portuguese is the predominant language, usually former territories of Spain or Portugal.

The Ibero-American Film Festival Miami (IAFFM) was created in 2016 under its original name, Indie Pasión Festival. By 2019, this small but vibrant one-day event had expanded into a multi-day experience featuring curated screenings, thematic panels, industry forums, special events, and networking opportunities.

Our mission is to exhibit and celebrate films from Latin America, Spain, Portugal, and from U.S.-based Latino and Ibero-American creators, as well as other global voices that reflect or engage with the cultural, linguistic, and social richness of Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking communities. We value works that combine strong artistic expression with messages of identity, social reflection, human rights, and cultural relevance.

IAFFM supports the education and creative development of filmmakers by providing access to training, masterclasses, discussion spaces, and professional networking. Our programming prioritizes diversity, accessibility, and impact, both on screen and through community engagement.

The 8th edition of the Ibero-American Film Festival Miami will take place from November 07 to 15, 2026, at the Koubek Center in Miami, Florida, with additional digital and outreach events. IAFFM continues to serve as a platform for discovering and amplifying new voices in Ibero-American cinema and for connecting artists with audiences, institutions, and the industry.

Films must have English or Spanish subtitles if the original language is not English or Spanish.

All entries must be submitted electronically through our online submission platform, FilmFreeway.

The submission deadline for all categories is August 15th, 2026.
Films that have previously been submitted to our festival are not eligible.

Whether it’s a documentary about a renowned visual artist, a fictional narrative inspired by musical traditions, or a journey into the flavors of Latin American cuisine, “Arte Ibero” is a space to showcase works that celebrate the creativity and beauty of Ibero-American cultures.

Films selected for this section will be screened as part of the festival program and may receive special recognition, although they will not be eligible for competition awards.
Selection Process and Awards:
All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of programmers and film professionals.
Selected films will be announced no later than September 30, 2026.

All selected films will be screened during the 7th edition of the festival, which will take place from November 07 to 15, 2026, at the Koubek Center in Miami.
